Accelerated Reader is a programme we use to support and motivate children with their reading journey. It helps us match books to each child’s reading level so they can enjoy stories that are both exciting and achievable. After finishing a book, children take a short online quiz that checks how well they understood what they have read. This gives them a sense of achievement and helps teachers see how their reading skills are developing.

Parents can play a really important role by encouraging regular reading at home. Whether your child enjoys a quick story before bed or likes to get stuck into a longer chapter book, every page they read counts towards their progress. The more they read, the more confident and enthusiastic they will become.
